Dani
Hi, I'm Dani!
If having a psychologist who loves dark humour, has approximately 89 tabs open across three browsers, runs primarily on caffeine, and firmly believes that therapy can be both meaningful and human sounds like your kind of vibe, then hello! We might be a good fit.
My goal is to create a space where you can be unapologetically yourself - messy thoughts, unfinished to-do lists, existential crises, random tangents, and all. Life is complicated enough without feeling like you need to have everything figured out before reaching out for support.
-
I approach the therapeutic process through a neuroaffirming and trauma-informed lens. I'm passionate about helping people better understand themselves, make sense of their experiences, and navigate life's challenges in a way that feels more like a conversation than a formal appointment.
My therapeutic approach uses humour, openness, flexibility, and empathy to help you feel comfortable and free to be yourself. Therapy can be serious without being serious all the time, and I believe some of the most meaningful moments of growth happen when people feel safe enough to be genuine, imperfect, and occasionally laugh at the chaos of being human.
If you're after the technical stuff, I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Schema Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to each individual, drawing on the strategies and frameworks that are most likely to resonate with you and your goals.
-
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across a range of presentations and life experiences.
I have particular interests in:
Anxiety and phobias
Parenting and family relationships
Trauma and recovery
Self-esteem and identity
Emotional regulation
Neurodiversity-affirming therapy and assessment
